1.  Download the FinchJS Javascript package and unzip it to a convenient directory.

LINUX USERS ONLY: You will need to install libusb-1.0 before compiling a program. To do so, run sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev in any terminal window.

2.  Run a Javascript file with the following incantation (assuming your file is in the same folder as runJS.bat/runJS.sh:

Windows:  runJS.bat yourProgram.js

Mac: ./runJS.sh yourProgram.js

Linux (make sure you've set the shell file to be executable): sudo ./runJS.sh yourProgram.js 

If you don't want to use sudo, follow these instructions to make it so regular users can access the Finch (credit: Meg Richards).

As a first step, try running the example file "alwaysUpHill.js" using these instructions.

Linux users - it is safe to ignore warnings that occur before the "Connecting to Finch..." message.
